Future Leader Fellowship
The Umoja Future Leaders Fellowship is a paid, semester-long leadership and teaching experience for college students and emerging adults who want to make a real impact in schools and communities.
We are selecting 10 Future Leaders to fill roles across multiple school sites
Why It Matters?
Young people today need leaders who can not only teach, but truly listen. They need adults who understand creativity, community, identity, healing, and emotional wellness. As a Future Leaders Fellow, you become a steady presence—a mentor who sees potential in students even when they don’t see it in themselves. You help build classrooms where youth feel safe, respected, and inspired. You become part of the solution, part of their growth story, and part of a community working to elevate the futures of young people across the region.
Paid Leadership Experience
Umoja believes in investing in the people who invest in our youth. Fellows are paid $25 per hour, with earnings capped at $500 per month, and payments are issued monthly based on approved hours. This fellowship allows you to gain practical classroom and leadership experience while being compensated for your time and contributions. It’s meaningful work with meaningful pay.
